Antique 19th Century Cedar Wood Stool – Nuristan.  A genuine 19th-century cedar wood stool originating from the mountainous regions of Nuristan (Afghanistan) and the Swat Valley (Pakistan), areas well known for their distinctive tribal craftsmanship and hand-carved domestic furniture.

Traditionally made from solid cedar wood, prized for its durability and natural resistance to insects, stools such as this were practical household pieces used for seating or as small utility tables.

The timber displays a rich, warm patina with age-related wear, consistent with authentic period pieces and adding to its character.  Today, pieces from this region are increasingly sought after by collectors of Central Asian and ethnographic antiques, and this stool works equally well as a decorative accent, side stool or display piece within both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear as photographed.
