Late Victorian / Edwardian – Arts & Crafts Influence (c.1895–1910)

A carved oak antique bookcase dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, showing clear Arts & Crafts influence in its design and craftsmanship. The upper frieze features hand-carved foliate detailing, complemented by decorative carved uprights and subtle carved edging along the top.

Constructed in solid oak, with two fixed shelves, panelled sides, and a substantial plinth base, this low oak bookcase offers practical storage for books, ceramics, or display pieces. The timber has developed a warm aged patina, enhancing the natural grain and character of the piece.
